The Youth Poll Propensity Updates trend core metrics related to youth propensity by key recruiting subpopulations. Propensity among youth ages 16 to 21 remains stable in Summer 2025 (10%). The proportion of youth who say they have seriously considered joining the Military decreased in Summer 2025 (8%). Additionally, the proportion of youth who say they have low knowledge (32%) or feel unfavorably (19%) about the Military increased from Spring 2025 to Summer 2025. About one-third of youth (35%) say it is difficult to get a full-time job, a perception that has been increasingly endorsed over the past few years. However, few youth (14%) say the current condition of the economy makes them more likely to consider military service, whereas nearly half (45%) say the economy does not impact their likelihood to join the Military. Only about 1 in 10 youth (12%) say that having a good-paying job is more likely in the Military compared to the civilian sector.
